Your First Class at The Mississauga Academy of Martial Arts!

Starting something new can feel exciting and maybe a little nerve-racking. Don’t worry, you’re in good hands. Our team is here to make your first karate class fun, safe, and easy to follow.
Before your first class, take a few minutes to watch the videos below. They’ll show you how to properly tie your karate uniform (gi) and belt (obi) so you’re comfortable and ready to train.
Each class begins with a bow of respect, followed by warm-ups, drills, and techniques suited to your age and level. You’ll be guided step-by-step by our instructors and surrounded by a community that’s encouraging and supportive from day one.
How to Prepare for Your First Karate Class

Arrive 10–15 minutes early to get settled and meet your instructor.

Wear your uniform neatly and bring a water bottle.
