How Our Parties Work

AMA birthday parties follow a simple and organized format that keeps the day running smoothly. The dojo area is used for monitored martial arts instruction, games, obstacle course activities, and board breaking, while the front party area is reserved for food and cake time.

Rather than open play, the party is built around organized activities and dedicated celebration time. Children take part in guided activities led by AMA staff, with time set aside afterward for food, cake, and celebration.

Food & Drinks Options

We keep the food side of our birthday parties simple and flexible so families can plan in a way that works best for their group. Included pizza is limited to cheese or pepperoni, and families are welcome to bring any additional pizza, snacks, drinks, cake, or other food they would like for their guests.

One water bottle is included for the birthday child, and water is generally available for the birthday family as well. Juice, tea, and coffee are not included, but families are welcome to bring them if they wish. This flexible setup gives families more freedom to plan around allergies, dietary needs, and personal preferences.

Do kids need martial arts experience?

Not at all. Our birthday parties are designed for all skill levels, and many guests are trying martial arts for the very first time. Each guest will also receive a free trial week, which includes up to three complimentary classes.

Can guests participate in board breaking?

Yes. In our Extreme Party package, the birthday child and guests get to enjoy the excitement of breaking their own martial arts board. Additional boards can also be added.

Do parents need to stay?

Parents are welcome to stay and enjoy the celebration. Our instructors lead and supervise the activities, helping the party run smoothly from start to finish.

What activities are included?

Each party includes a mix of exciting, instructor led activities such as martial arts class time, martial arts games, obstacle course fun, board breaking, and celebration time. We keep the party moving so kids stay active, engaged, and having fun throughout.

What should kids wear?

Kids should wear comfortable athletic clothing they can move in easily. Bare feet are best for martial arts activities.

AMA Birthday Parties are typically available on weekends, when the dojo schedule allows us to dedicate the space fully to your celebration. Most parties are held at the following times:

Sunday: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM & 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Birthday Parties at The Academy of Martial Arts follow a simple and organized flow to keep the day running smoothly and generally follow this flow:

  • We are happy to answer questions, confirm availability, and help you choose the right package.
  • Parents may arrive up to 30 minutes before the party for setup
  • Kids should wear comfortable clothes they can be active in
  • Guest waivers can be completed in advance using the downloadable waiver form or filled out on arrival.
  • Adults are welcome to stay, but they are not counted as guests and do not participate in the activities
  • Gratuities are welcomed, not required.
